ashley menegon
Ashley Menegon is a registered Architect in NSW with over twenty years of experience across architectural drafting, design, and construction, including more than ten years as a registered Architect. Beginning his career as a draftsperson, Ashley brings a strong technical foundation and a practical understanding of how buildings are made.
Ashley believes in the importance of buildings having a natural, handmade quality, something he feels is often lost in contemporary construction. His work is guided by a deep respect for materials, particularly recycled and reclaimed elements, and by the belief that allowing materials to lead the design process can result in more meaningful and unexpected outcomes.
This approach closely aligns with Ashley’s long-standing involvement with the Bower Reuse and Repair Centre, an environmental charity in Sydney’s Inner West. Over several years, he has taught woodworking and the Tiny House Construction course, sharing practical skills and sustainable building knowledge with the broader community.
Ashley has also taught the Certificate IV in Residential Drafting at Tighes Hill TAFE for three and a half years, bringing real-world experience into architectural education. He believes that creativity and access to well-made, artistic objects should be available to everyone, and many of his projects are grounded in community-focused work that values participation, learning, and reuse.
